How do I know what to do first?
Each players' turn should follow five steps:
  • First, move all of your characters. Don't do anything but decide who moves where. Characters move one space a turn, unless instructed otherwise.
  • Then, for each Location you have a character or characters on, figure out the Engagement for that turn. This is when you'll flip over new Locations, draw cards, interact with other Characters at the same Location, etc. Do this for each Character.
  • Next, if there are any Neutral Characters at any Location, you may try to lead them.
  • You may move any Equipment around amongst Characters at the same Location.
  • Finally, if you have more Fate cards in your hand than you are supposed to have, discard down to the limit (4 for most players).

I have three characters, one of which is Injured, and another one is Sun, and I move them to a Location that says "Draw a Fate card." However, I want the injured character to be healed this turn. What happens if I draw an Encounter?
Before you do follow any if the Location's instructions, announce which character is getting healed and not participating in the Fate card draw, and which character is participating in the Fate card draw. Then, follow the instructions. If you draw a Fate card, and it is an Encounter, then you may only use the Characters you announced were involved. The key here is to remember that all Characters must take an Action every turn -- you can't move those characters on to the location, have one be healed, and the other two do nothing (unless the Location has no instructions, of course!).
