Character FAQs Ana Lucia If Ana Lucia moves to a location with another player's character, does she HAVE to engage them, or can she engage the tile first? Ana Lucia must engage the opponent's characters; she cannot engage anything else, other than encounters that are already present (Encounters that are face-up must always be dealt with first). If Ana Lucia wins a power check against another character, she can injure them again and cause them to die, correct? Ana Lucia can choose to injure an opponent's character as a result of a power check only. So, instead of taking control, or choosing an Equipment or Fate card, you can also choose to injure the target character. She cannot choose to injure a character in addition to the result of the Power Check. Charlie I have Charlie at a Location, but at another Location, I have two Characters in a Leadership attempt, and roll a one. Can I use Charlie's ability to re-roll? No. You can only use Charlie's ability in Actions in which he is directly involved. Claire I have Claire, and she is adjacent to Charlie. I want to try to lead Charlie, using Claire's ability to target adjacent Characters. Can I also use Claire's other ability to add adjacent Characters to her Power to add Charlie's power to Claire? Not anymore. Claire can only use her ability on characters she is not in a Power Check against. Same example as above, but this time, Libby is also adjacent to Claire on the other side. Can I also add Libby's power to Claire? Yes. Claire can be quite powerful if caught between other characters. If I take control of an adjacent character using Claire's ability, do I move them to Claire's location? No. you take control of them where they are at. When Claire borrows the power of all adjacent characters, is it their base power, or do modifiers to their power (abilities, equipment, location) apply? It's their base power only. Claire's win condition is to win power checks "alone". Does "alone" mean alone on her tile, or without others in her tile helping her? Alone means without others in her tile. Can Claire use her special ability when attempting to lead alone from an adjacent tile? Yes. Jack If Jack engages an Injured character and heals them, do they skip their next turn? No. Only if the character engages Jack do they skip their next turn. Jin If I control Jin, and my opponent controls Sun, and they are at the same Location, does Jin get +2 and Sun get +1? They sure do! How does Jin's ability to "return to any space he moves from, instead of engaging an Encounter" work? Instead of Jin engaging the Encounter, he can instead avoid it for his Action. If you move Jin on to a Location that has an Encounter already on it, or you move on to a Location, draw a Fate card and it is an Encounter, move him back to where he just came from. You do NOT draw any Fate cards at the new Location (but if there are other instructions, you must follow them. If there are any Encounters, you must face them). I'm playing with two other people and I have Jin. If both other players skip a turn, and Jin moves, I win? Just like that? Yes, just like that -- if you caused them to skip their turns (skipping turns voluntarily to be healed doesn't count). The lesson here is that if you are playing against Jin, keep your characters moving! Libby I have Libby at a Location, but at another Location, I have two Characters in a Leadership attempt. Can I use Libby's ability to add 1 to the Power of one of my other Characters? Yes -- Libby's ability may be used on any other character, any where on the board. Can I use Libby's ability on a Neutral Character, to make it more difficult for my opponent to lead them? Yes, you can -- and probably should. Can I use Libby's ability on an Encounter that my opponent is facing? No. Libby's ability can only be used on characters. You could use her ability on your opponent's character, though, to help them, and make a good friend. Locke I control Locke. If "The Monster" is defeated by my opponent, and Locke did not participate, do I still win? Yes. Be sure to thank your opponent. Mr. Eko I have Mr. Eko. How do I keep track of how many Power Points worth on Encounters I have defeated? When you overcome an Encounter, instead of putting it in the discard pile, place it under Mr. Eko's character card, and keep a running tally (or just write it down on a piece of paper). Sayid I have Sayid. What constitutes preventing another Character from being killed? There are many ways, but it is difficult. Examples include helping an Injured character win a Power Check or using an Event card to prevent a death. Does Sayid's special power mean HE loses his turn, or does his target another Character? Sayid loses his turn. Does Sayid need to be the character trying to lead or just one of the stack added in the attempt? Just one of the group attempting to lead. Walt I have Walt. Do I have to draw 2 cards, look at one, and put the other back? Yes, but if you choose to only draw one, consider the other drawn and put back, without you having looked at it. General Questions Why do some Characters have special Win Conditions, and not others? For some Characters, it was inappropriate for them to have a Win Condition of their own. That's not to say, though, that they won't be able to get a Win Condition in a later expansion. Return to FAQ main page. |
